The Next iPad Might Ditch the Headphone Jack and Touch ID

Based on a report posted by Japanese supply chain site Mac Otakara via 9to5Mac, suggests that this year Apple is planning to refresh the iPad pro lineup with a thinner bezel and without a headphone jack.

It's rumored to have a thinner bezel around the display. Which means there will be no space for TouchID and based on past records Apple won't be putting it on the back. Instead, this might be the first iPad to come with FaceID.

With the thinner bezels, the dimensions will shrink a bit. The 10.5" model might shrink from 250.6 x 174.1 x 6.1mm to 247.5 x 178.7 x 6mm. And the larger, 12.9" device will also shrink from 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9 mm to 280 x 215 x 6.4mm.

There are rumors about ditching the 3.5mm headphone this time, that's what Apple has continued this tradition with the iPhones from past 2 years. I won't be surprised to see that during this year's annual launch event in September.
